As our client walked to his car to leave a Spinx gas station on Southport Road in Spartanburg, he stepped with his left foot in a puddle of clear oil, which he could not see.  His left foot shot out from under him, causing him to slam down with all of his weight onto his right knee.  When he told store employees about it after he got up, one stated he was the second one to fall there.  We used this admission to show the gas station knew about the customer safety hazard, but did nothing to fix it.

The injuries required an extensive right knee surgery- arthroscopy with a partial lateral meniscectomy and a cyst excision and debridement of extensive synovitis.  The surgeon assigned him a 20% permanent impairment to his right leg.

We settled it without filing suit.
